The Portland Symphonic Girlchoir and its Co-conductors, Roberta Q. Jackson and Debra D. Burgess, have had a long association with Lee R. Kesselman since first participating in CME. PSG's first commission by Lee was Tsvey Taybelekh in 2004 and its most recent, Be Quick To Love, will be premiered in Spring 2019, both of which showcase his wide-ranging compositional skill and interests.
Lee returns as composer-in-residence for PSG's 2019 "Music in the Making" Workshop and Concert, April 26-28, 2019, which will feature four of his diverse works: Skye Boat Song, Peace in the Desert, There Is A Balm In Gilead, and Mbiri Kuna Mwari from Shona Mass. Lee R. Kesselman is a gifted composer with a relevant voice for today. ~~Roberta Q. Jackson and Debra D. Burgess, Co-conductors, Portland Symphonic Girlchoir
